A little time makes a big difference.

Love animals and want to turn your compassion into action? Join our volunteer team to help animals who need it most. We need volunteers for socializing future companions, community engagement, administrative support, fostering animals, and shelter medicine assistance. We offer plenty of opportunities to help animals that work well with your preferences and schedule.

Get started.

To apply for one of our volunteer positions, please fill out the form below. We are currently only accepting applications for volunteers at our Atlanta location.

Volunteer Opportunities for Companies

We offer Corporate Service Days for company groups. Our team will work with you to organize the day(s) and ensure employees are engaged within our program. We currently welcome groups of up to 10 on Monday-Thursdays.

Please note that Corporate Service Days must be scheduled 2 weeks in advance and that a donation is required. This contribution provides a volunteer experience at one of our locations as well as an investment in our mission.

Corporate Service Days help your employees build relationships with their team, establish goodwill within the community, and improve company culture. We welcome all animal lovers who are ready to roll up their sleeves for a morning of philanthropy and fun. Fill out the request form below and a member of our team will be in touch!

Community Service Hours

The Atlanta Humane Society provides opportunities to complete community service for those needing documented hours for school, court-ordered community service, clubs, and civic organizations. To get started, learn more about our community service program and sign up for a community service orientation at the link below.

Shelter Medicine Externship

If you are a fourth-year veterinary student considering a career in shelter medicine or becoming a high-quality high-volume (HQHV) spay/neuter surgeon, or simply want to learn more about how you can help the homeless pet overpopulation, the Atlanta Humane Society provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to animal welfare issues.
