Foster Orientation
Thank you for your interest in fostering with Atlanta Humane! In order to begin fostering, you need to attend a live virtual foster orientation or watch the pre-recorded version below. The live version is available once a month and is a great opportunity for you to ask specific questions of our team. The pre-recorded version covers the same information as the live version but also includes a mandatory quiz. Once you submit your responses, our team will reach out to you about the next steps to begin fostering. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
Pre-recorded Foster Orientation
Update as of 2/26/24: The Foster Program, and Atlanta Humane Society as an organization, has ungone several changes and updates since this video was last recorded. An updated video is in the works, but for now here are some important changes not reflected in this prerecorded video:
- We are no longer utilizing the former shelter space at 1565 Mansell Road in Alpharetta. Support and services for foster parents in North Fulton, and surrounding areas, are happening out of our temporary North Fulton Foster Hub while we work on securing a new, permanent location.
- All members of your household may participate in fostering, but the main point of contact between the household and the Foster Program must be at least 18 yrs or older.
- After completing the orientation, you will be given access to the Atlanta Humane Foster Board. Please be sure to read up on the latest information on foster adoptions and more.

sign up on our website.
