Some cats are chill. Some are playful. Some follow you around like a lovesick puppy. Schnorey? He’s all three.
He’s the total package: soft, sweet, snuggly, and just spicy enough to keep things interesting. Schnorey is a classic “guy with a little bit of mystery” energy. One minute he’s chasing his toy mouse like he’s auditioning for the Cat Olympics, the next he’s vanishing into a closet for a dramatic nap like a feline goth poet. You never know what you’re gonna get but it’s always adorable.
The Schnorey Experience
– Will greet you like a king at mealtime (bonus: sings for his supper)
– Follows you around the house like your tiny, fuzzy bodyguard
– Loves to be pet… on his terms (avoid the paws and belly, and you’re golden)
– Runs to you when you call his name (he knows he’s the main character)
– Enjoys a little playtime, a lot of naptime, and being wherever you are
Schnorey’s vibe is very “loyal roommate who wants to know what you’re doing at all times but in a respectful way.”
What About FIV?
Yep, Schnorey is FIV+ and it’s no big deal. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus just means he has a slightly weaker immune system, so indoor life and regular vet care are key. He’s not sick, he’s not contagious to humans or dogs, and he’s living his best life with zero symptoms.
Think of it like: Schnorey has a cool, rare trait that makes him even more special. Like a superhero origin story, minus the cape.
The Ideal Home
Schnorey would love a calm, cozy space with people who appreciate his affectionate (but never clingy) style. He hasn’t met other pets, but he has met plenty of humans and thinks they’re pretty neat, especially if they come bearing treats.
He’s not into chaos, loud noises, or belly rubs but he is into brushing against your legs lovingly like a cat-shaped thank-you card.
Meet Your Future Favorite Roommate
Schnorey is available now, and we’re honestly surprised he’s still here. Once you meet him, you’ll understand why he’s a heart-stealer in a fur coat.
Ready to fall in love? Come meet him today at our Marietta location. He’s waiting with a purr, a headbutt, and a whole lot of love.
Our sensory garden has been thoughtfully designed with a walking trail lined with pet-safe herbs and wildflowers for sniffing, windchimes for auditory enrichment, a digging pit, ramps, tunnels, and more. This space enriches the lives of the animals in our care by engaging their senses, encouraging natural behaviors, and supporting their emotional well-being.
Take a closer look at how this space brings comfort, joy, and enrichment to every animal who visits.
Last fall, she reached out to us with a plea for help. She shared that she was unemployed and searching for work while facing homelessness. The place she’d been staying would no longer be an option much longer. As eviction loomed, her biggest worry was Duke.
She wrote, “My dog deserves a better life than what I can provide at this moment. He is a sweet baby.”
Through our Pets in Crisis Support Program, Duke was placed in a loving foster home where he could be safe and cared for while his mom worked to regain stability. During his stay, he was neutered and vaccinated so he’d be ready for a fresh start when they were reunited.
When Duke’s mom has moved into her own apartment, we covered the pet deposit so he could immediately return home. Today, he is right where he belongs.
From the look on Duke’s face when he saw her again, there was no doubt how he felt.
This kind of support is only possible because fosters and donors step up for pets and the people who love them. If you’d like to help keep families together during their hardest chapters, visit the Pets in Crisis Support Program’s page to learn more.
Today, our Animal Protection Unit has been in the field to rescue a large group of cats from a dangerous and life-threatening situation. And the work is far from over.
These cats are now en route to our shelter, but they are in desperate need of immediate medical care and support.
At this time, we can’t share details or images due to the ongoing investigation with local law enforcement. But what we can tell you is that these cats were living in conditions that put their lives at risk and they are counting on us now.
As soon as we’re able, we’ll share more details and images from the rescue but right now, our priority is providing immediate care to these animals.

Hi, I’m Jet. I’m handsome, humble, and probably the most dedicated cuddler you’ll ever meet. Let’s get a few things out of the way:
* I love being carried around like a royal baby
* I will sleep next to you all night without making it weird
* I take my snacks (specifically churus) very seriously
* Yes, I walk on a leash and yes, I rock it
I’m basically a roommate with better hair and zero opinions on what you watch on Netflix (unless there are birds involved).
My Vibe
If you’re looking for a cat who doubles as a weighted blanket and a loyal sidekick, I’m your guy. I will follow you around the house, sit on your keyboard while you work, and lovingly stare at you while you eat snacks (I will share mine if you share yours).
I’ve lived with a dog before and it wasn’t a big deal, we got along fine. Cats? I’m… choosy. Let’s just say I’d be totally fine bing your one and only.
And when it’s playtime? I bring the energy. Toys are great, but your attention is better.
OK, Real Talk: I’ve Got a Weird Brain Thing
I’ve been poked and prodded by all the top vet people and it turns out, I have something called Feline Facial and Oral Pain Syndrome. Basically, my brain sometimes misfires and makes my mouth feel ouchy for no reason. It’s rare, it’s random, but guess what? I’ve got meds that help and they cost about $25 a month.
All I need is someone consistent who can give me my daily meds (I promise to make it cute).
Jet’s FAQ
Q: What is Feline Facial and Oral Pain Syndrome? A: It’s a rare neurological condition I have where I feel discomfort in my mouth or jaw, even when nothing’s actually wrong. Think of it like a little brain glitch. It’s annoying sometimes, but totally manageable!
Q: Do I need special care? A: Just a daily dose of my meds and some love! I’m thriving with the right treatment.
Q: Is it expensive? A: Nope! My medication is only around $25 per month.
Q: Will I be in pain all the time? A: Not with my current plan! With regular meds, I’m happy, playful, and as snuggly as ever.
Q: Can I try fostering him first? A: Yes! I qualify for the Foster First Program, so you can take me home for two weeks and see if I’m the love of your life (spoiler: I am).
Adopt me! I’ll Change Your Life (and Maybe Your Sleep Schedule)
I’m ready for a cozy home, a snack shelf full of churus, and someone who finds my quirks as charming as everyone here does. If you’re looking for a cat who’s equal parts snuggler, comedian, and occasional drama king, I’m your perfect match.
Fill out the pre-adoption application linked on my adoption profile to schedule time to meet me with my Foster and let me walk into your heart (and maybe your lap).
She had lost her home and was living out of her car with Mylow by her side. Despite everything, she was determined to do right by him.
She reached out to us with an urgent message and through our Pets in Crisis Support Program, Mylow was placed in a caring foster home where he could feel safe and loved while his mom worked tirelessly to build a more stable future.
Today, Mylow and his mom are back where they belong: together. With a safe, pet-friendly home and new opportunities ahead, they can look forward to their future together.

These dogs came from heartbreaking conditions — matted, afraid, and in desperate need of care. But then everything changed. Thanks to compassionate support, they received their first baths, expert medical attention, and the love they had always deserved.
Some of these sweet dogs are already home with families of their own. Others are just a few steps away from adoption.
Over the holiday weekend, while most people were celebrating, our team was working to make sure dogs from a horrible neglect situation were brought into our care, and now we need your support to heal them.
Many of these little dogs spent years hidden away in filth, their coats weighted down with matted feces. They were forced to lie in their own urine, day after day, never knowing the feeling of a clean bed. Their fur is so severely matted that they must be sedated before they can be shaved… it would be too painful otherwise.
Among them are several fragile Pomeranians, including Willow, who has a serious eye condition that has been left untreated for too long. True to her name, she is delicate but strong, surviving far more than any dog should ever endure.
These dogs have endured a lifetime of neglect and suffering, and now they urgently need your help.
Your gift right now provides their first experience of true care and relief. You can provide critical medical care, pain relief, and the comfort of clean bedding and gentle hands for Willow and so many others who have never felt safe before.
When Wiley arrived at Atlanta Humane, he was a shadow of the dog he should have been. We found him abandoned… alone in our play yard. He was skin and bones beneath a fluffy coat, weighing just 25 pounds when he should have weighed twice that.
Our Shelter Medicine team created a careful feeding plan so Wiley could gain weight safely and begin to recover. Once he was stable, he moved into a foster home where he could rest, heal, and start to trust again.
Today, Wiley is a completely different dog. He has already gained the weight he needed, his energy has returned, and he is almost ready to find the family who will love him for the rest of his life.
Every day, animals arrive needing medical care, nutritious food, and a safe place to recover. With the right support, they can leave the past behind and look forward to a future filled with love and security.
If you would like to help pets like Wiley, consider fostering, adopting, or making a gift. Together, we can make sure every animal has the chance to heal and thrive.
Curious about adopting Wiley specifically? Keep an eye on our dog adoption page! he’ll be available soon.
