When Wiley arrived at Atlanta Humane, he was a shadow of the dog he should have been. We found him abandoned… alone in our play yard. He was skin and bones beneath a fluffy coat, weighing just 25 pounds when he should have weighed twice that.
Our Shelter Medicine team created a careful feeding plan so Wiley could gain weight safely and begin to recover. Once he was stable, he moved into a foster home where he could rest, heal, and start to trust again.
Today, Wiley is a completely different dog. He has already gained the weight he needed, his energy has returned, and he is almost ready to find the family who will love him for the rest of his life.
Every day, animals arrive needing medical care, nutritious food, and a safe place to recover. With the right support, they can leave the past behind and look forward to a future filled with love and security.
