Adoptions
When visitors arrive at our new Atlanta Animal Center, they will pass by a large, red metal sculpture of the Atlanta Humane Society’s heart logo. This heart emphasizes the love we have for our community and its pets. Adoptions will take place in the main lobby, which will be bright and open.
Our cat room will allow visitors to view and interact with adoptable cats from the moment they walk through our doors, and this beautiful space will also feature fully enclosed patio spaces where cats can watch birds and lounge in the sunshine.
Our new facility prioritizes keeping the cats and dogs in our care separated and as comfortable as possible during their time with us. This means finding innovative ways to decrease stress, reduce unwanted noise, and ensure that dogs and cats aren’t interacting with one another. Prioritizing humane care and animal comfort is extremely important to us, and we are following the American Veterinary Medical Association’s guidelines to achieve this goal.
For those looking to adopt a dog, our new facility will feature bright and spacious meet-and-greet rooms where families will form bonds that will last a lifetime. In our kennel space, dogs will benefit from improved air handling, noise control, and new safety measures.
