Toodles is a precious 1-year-old Shih-tzu mix, and this little guy has a big problem. We aren’t sure how it happened, but Toodles ended up at DeKalb County Animal Services with a severely broken femur. X-rays revealed that the bone was badly damaged, and Tootles was unable to use the leg at all.
Our Shelter Medicine Team immediately went to work to relieve Tootles’ pain. They decided that his leg would need to be amputated in order to provide him the best quality of life possible.
Thanks to the expert care and dedication of our Shelter Medicine Team, Tootles’ life was saved, and he is recovering from his surgery in a loving Atlanta Humane Society foster home.
