Ella made the long journey from the South Carolina coast seeking refuge from Hurricane Florence. She arrived at midnight along with 34 other dogs who evacuated ahead of Hurricane Florence’s landfall.
Sweet Ella is covered head-to-toe in itchy mange, a skin condition that caused all her hair to fall out and for her skin to be inflamed and incredibly itchy.
Now that she’s safe from the storm here in Atlanta, our Shelter Medicine Team is taking great care of Ella. She receiving medicated baths, special medication, and lots of love.
Ella is now recovering in a loving AHS foster home! She’ll remain there until her treatment is complete, her hair grows back silky and soft, and she’s made available for adoption.
