Chutney’s journey has been full of challenges, but also full of hope thanks to the support of our community.
As a puppy living with megaesophagus, she struggles to keep food down and needs to eat upright at every meal. She still has a lot of growing to do, so a custom feeding chair will come later, but our team created a temporary setup that works beautifully for her.
With this support and ongoing medical care, Chutney is settling into her foster home and learning to enjoy life.

Chutney was rescued from a large scale neglect case. As the smallest of her litter, it quickly became clear that even after rescue, her life wasn’t going to be easy.
Our Shelter Medicine Team discovered that she suffers from a condition called megaesophagus. This causes food to rise back up after each time she eats, and she struggles to catch her breath.
Every meal is a careful process. Her food must be blended and fed while she remains upright to help it reach her stomach.
But we aren’t giving up on her. And we hope you won’t either.
