Beautiful Bianca was found limping through an apartment complex parking lot and brought to DeKalb County Animal Services. Once she arrived at their facility, they reached out to us to see if we could help sweet Bianca heal.
We gladly welcomed Bianca to the Atlanta Humane Society and immediately went to work performing diagnostics to determine the extent of her injuries and the type of care she would need to have the best possible quality of life.
X-rays revealed that the source of Bianca’s pain was an old injury that had healed incorrectly. Our Shelter Medicine Team sent her x-rays off to an orthopedic specialist to confirm what they suspected… removing Bianca’s injured leg was her best chance at a normal, pain-free life.
We prepared sweet Bianca for surgery as she gave us her very best puppy dog eyes, and we assured her she would feel so much better when she woke up again.
Her surgery was a success, and while she still had lots of healing to do, Bianca’s tail wags and sweet kisses told us that she was already feeling better.
Bianca spent a few weeks of her recovery in a loving foster home where she stole the hearts of her foster parents, and they decided to make Bianca a permanent part of their family!
