Penny was just 10 days old when she was repeatedly tossed into the air and dropped by some children. When an Animal Control Officer intervened and brought her to us for medical care, we worried that she was too young and fragile to survive.

Penny struggled to hold her head up, and our Shelter Medicine Team feared that she might have swelling in her brain. They immediately fitted her with a tiny neck brace and placed her in an oxygen box to get her body the oxygen it needed.

Penny fought hard and made it through those first critical days. Today, she’s recovering in a loving foster home, and it’s all because of our donors.
