Sweet Whitaker had become a victim to a horrible disease called parvo.
Parvo is a harsh reality and most shelters are unable to treat the disease.
But, thanks to your incredible support and our amazing Shelter Medicine Team, we are able to provide loving care and parvo treatment for animals like Whitaker.
Whitaker had been picked up as a stray, and it’s likely he picked up the disease there, before transported into our care.
He was not vaccinated, and not protected from any diseases, including parvo.
Whitaker and all of the dogs in our parvo treatment ward receive dedicated staff to provide them treatments twice a day and specialized medical care depending on their symptoms.
Today, your donation can help provide the sickest animals in our parvo treatment ward the loving care they need.
They receive soft blankets to cuddle up with, a sweater to keep them warm and a snugglesafe to curl up on.
And it’s all possible because our community supports us and chooses to be there for the animals who are in most need.
Parvo could be scary, but we follow strict guidelines to ensure that the disease is isolated and the animals who come down with it receive the absolute best care possible.
It’s still touch and go for Whitaker. Parvo is a hard disease to fight, and sometimes, even with the best of care, our parvo patients don’t make it.
But he knows you’re on his side, he knows you’ll support him, and he’ll fight through this… just for you.
