During the past few weeks, 51 beagles were transferred to us by the Humane Society of the United States after being relinquished from a facility that breeds animals for animal testing.
These dogs were living in confined, unsanitary spaces and when they arrived, we knew they’d need special medical help.
We reached out to our friends at VCA Animal Hospitals to help us ensure these dogs received the medical care they needed. After our Shelter Medicine Team evaluated each of them and provided them with a medical plan, VCA began helping to ensure each one of these beagles received a complete dental cleaning and extractions on any teeth causing them pain. The incredible efforts have been split between our friends at VCA Pets are People Too Roswell Animal Hospital and VCA Pets Are People Too Veterinary Hospital on Piedmont Road.
The VCA teams have been taking excellent care of these beagles and getting in some extra snuggles too.
