Raven was starving- every rib visible and her hip bones protruding through her skin. She had recently given birth to 5 puppies, and it took every ounce of her strength to keep them from starving too.
Her puppies were evaluated and deemed healthy, and finally it was Raven’s turn to receive the kind of love and care she’s never had before. We found a wonderful foster home where Raven could learn what it’s like to be loved and receive a specialized diet plan that would allow her to gain the weight she needed at a healthy pace.
At first, Raven was afraid of her own shadow, but once she learned she was safe, she began to blossom. Her appetite for her yummy Purina food grew along with her personality, and soon, Raven looked like a whole new dog.
Raven became more confident than ever, and her coat became thick and shiny, her eyes bright and clear, and her tail never stopped wagging.
Just a few days after being cleared by our Shelter Medicine Team, Raven was scooped up by a loving adopter who promised she would never again endure the kind of neglect she faced before.
