Looking for a new way to keep your pet entertained while you’re spending more time at home together?
One way to consistently offer your pet new enrichment activities is to turn mealtime into a game, and the pasta box challenge is an easy way to do just that with items you already have at home!
Step 1: Grab an empty pasta box (or any box really!) and your pet’s kibble or favorite treats.
Step 2: Place your pet’s kibble or treats inside the pasta box and loosely close. If your pet isn’t typically motivated by kibble or treats, you can try swiping some peanut butter or wet food on the inside of the box!
Step 3: If you’re doing the pasta box challenge with a cat or a dog that’s never used a puzzle feeder before, you can also carefully use scissors to cut a small opening in the front or sides of the box.
Step 4: Shake the box gently to let your pet know what’s inside the box and get them excited!
Step 5: Let them have at it! Make sure you are nearby to monitor your dog or cat as they explore this new activity. They may need some assistance at first, but once they figure out the reward they get for playing, they’ll be all about it!
