Mamacita was adopted four years ago, and since then she had been a cherished member of her family.
But when her owner faced a personal crisis, they were confronted with the heartbreaking reality of being separated from her. When her owner reached out, they shared, “I am definitely coming back to get my dog. It’s tearing me apart to have to leave her, but I have to get help.”
At the Atlanta Humane Society, our support for animals doesn’t end at adoption. We remain a resource for pets and the people who love them, helping families through life’s most difficult moments.
Through our Pets in Crisis Support Program, Mamacita was welcomed into a safe and loving foster home while her owner worked to rebuild stability. That stability allowed them to bring Mamacita home again. After weeks apart, she was reunited with her family and returned to the comfort, love, and companionship she had always known.
