When a Good Samaritan walked through our doors holding tiny Malibu, the worried look on her face told us everything we needed to know. As she was driving on Interstate 285, she spotted a tiny kitten limping across the road barely being missed by speeding cars, and her heart stopped.
She pulled over to the side of the road and was able to scoop the tiny kitten safely in her arms. Once she was out of immediate danger, the Good Samaritan knew she needed to take Malibu somewhere she could receive immediate medical attention- the terrified kitten was limping heavily on her back left leg, and her front left paw appeared mangled with a painful open wound.
As soon as she arrived, our Shelter Medicine Team went right to work evaluating the extent of Malibu’s injuries. We cleaned the wound on her paw, provided medication to combat infection, and administered pain medication to make her more comfortable. Once Malibu gets a little bigger, further diagnostics will be performed, but until then, she is resting and healing comfortably in a loving AHS foster home.
In her foster home, she is on strict crate rest and is not yet able to run around the house. Malibu loves to cuddle and have her chin scratched as often as possible.
Your support gives hope to homeless animals just like Malibu, and her life would be very different if it weren’t for the generous donations of friends just like you.
