One of our longest term residents, Lola, was adopted exactly 375 days after her arrival at Atlanta Humane Society!

Lola, an absolutely stunning cat, has a fiercely independent personality – so we knew she wouldn’t be happy in a home with other cats, dogs, or children.  We knew that there was someone out there who wanted a cat just like Lola, but it would take the perfect match to find the right adopter.

One afternoon, Scott came in and asked to see Lola – so Julie, one of the admissions counselors, took him to the Community Cat Room.  Julie went into the Cat Room and asked one of our experienced Cat Room volunteers, Frauncee, to speak with Scott about Lola.

Scott told Frauncee that he lived alone and once had a cat with a very similar personality to Lola, but this cat passed away in 2013.  Lola was approachable to him, but again, since she’s fiercely independent… once she was done “meeting” Scott, she was done.  Scott thought her personality was great and said she would be an indoor cat only with plenty of places for her to retreat.

Coincidentally, Lola was featured as the #ForgetMeNotFriday feature that very day – but Scott had seen her before that day, as he was looking at her online before Christmas but was travelling so he couldn’t adopt her sooner.  He was just hoping that she’d still be around after the holidays!

Here at Atlanta Humane Society, we try to find the very best match for our animals and our adopters – it took a little longer than normal but we’re convinced that Lola found her happy ending.
