Our Animal Protection Unit just arrived with 33 beagle puppies who were born in a facility that breed animals for testing and was riddled with animal welfare concerns.

These beagles are just a few of the 4,000 who were born and raised at a mass-breeding Envigo facility in Virginia. Repeated federal inspections of this facility resulted in dozens of violations, including findings that some dogs had been “euthanized” without first receiving anesthesia, that dogs had received inadequate veterinary care and insufficient food, and that they were living in unsanitary conditions.

As we often do, our Animal Protection Unit has been working closely with our animal welfare partners on this transport. Our friends at Atlanta Beagle Rescue, Beagle Freedom Project, and Athens-Area Humane will split up caring and loving on these new arrivals with us.

Your donation right now will be doubled to ensure our Animal Protection Unit can continue to rescue animals in need, step up during emergencies, and be there when disaster strikes.
