Our Animal Protection Unit received a call from our friends at Toccoa Stephens Humane Society after animal control officers found dozens of dogs living in neglectful conditions. Having been exposed to the elements in two sheds and a trailer, the dogs were swiftly removed from the property.
Our team packed up and left before sunrise to drive to Toccoa and bring 29 dogs to Atlanta. Here, they have been receiving medical care, enrichment and training, and all the love they need to thrive. Your donation helps to make that possible.
The dogs are quietly settling into their kennels. Most of them have urine-stained fur and many have scars on their faces from fighting for food. They’ve never had their own space before, let alone comfy beds and toys to play with.
We gave them warm, comforting baths. For many, this was the first bath of their life.
And now, thanks to your support, these incredibly resilient dogs are beginning to blossom and get the second chance at love that they deserve.
Your support is urgently needed to help us rescue more animals in need just like these 29 dogs. Please give generously today.
