Georgie was the first orphaned neonatal puppy brought into our care this year.

Georgie was brought to our Howell Mill Campus with horrible open wounds on her face. Her eyes weren’t even open yet, but she was already experiencing life-threatening medical conditions.

We estimated her to be only a few days, maybe a week, old.

The wounds had become infected and needed immediate care. Our Shelter Medicine Team cleaned her up, provided her medication and took her home to nurse her through the night.

Then Georgie was placed into a loving foster home where she could be bottle fed every two hours, kept warm and have her wounds frequently cleaned.

Georgie was the first orphaned neonatal puppy brought into our care this year, but she won’t be the last. We’re anticipating hundreds of tiny puppies and kittens to need us this spring season, and right now, they need you.

Please donate, send an item off our wish list, or become a foster caregiver to help save their lives.
