When you adopt a pet from Atlanta Humane Society, you reduce animal homelessness while gaining a new, loving family member.

Both our Howell Mill and Mansell Campus adoption facilities are open 7 days a week: Weekdays from 12-7pm and weekends from 11am-6pm.

Whether you have questions about pet ownership or need help choosing the right companion, our pet adoption counselors are here each and every day to assist you.

Adoption Process

Our goal this year is to adopt out 9,000 dogs and cats to forever, loving homes.

Each week, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution features an AHS “Pet of the Week” in the Sunday paper. These precious pets are available at either the Howell Mill Campus or Mansell Campus on Sunday at 11 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis to an approved adoptive family.

Underdog and CATch of the Week
Our long-term residents have an extra special place in our hearts. These are the dogs and cats that have stayed the longest at our facilities, many times more than six months. They would be extra happy to find a loving home with you soon!
Do you have a great “Story of LOVE” about the family member you adopted from AHS? If so, we’d love to hear your story!
