As just a tiny, 7-week-old kitten, Percy was found wandering and alone, and he was limping severely on one of his rear legs and also had lesions on his head.

A good Samaritan brought him to the Atlanta Humane Society where our Shelter Medicine Team immediately assessed him. X-rays revealed a severe break in little Percy’s leg, and our team of expert veterinarians determined that the leg needed to be removed to give Percy the best possible quality of life.

Additional diagnostic tests revealed that in addition to his broken leg, Percy also had ringworm. After his successful amputation surgery, Percy was started on medication for his ringworm and sent to a loving foster home to recover.

Kitten recovering from surgery

Percy is adjusting to life on three legs splendidly, and we hope that once he finishes his ringworm treatment in a few weeks, he’ll be available for adoption!
