Loyal arrived at DeKalb County Animal Services as a stray- he was severely emaciated and had likely been wandering the streets for weeks searching for food. Your support allowed us to transfer him to the Atlanta Humane Society for treatment as soon as his stray hold was over.
Wounds on his face suggested a lack of appropriate medical care, and Loyal’s eyes told us that he desperately needed our help. Our Shelter Medicine Team assessed him and provided the immediate care Loyal needed.
Loyal also had a severe upper respiratory infection that was teetering on pneumonia, so we placed him in a loving AHS foster home where he could rest and heal from his wounds. He finally felt what it was like to be loved.
After just a few days in foster care, Loyal’s adorable personality began to shine. He opened up to play with other dogs, and he was endlessly loving towards everyone he met.
Now, Loyal is healthy, happy, and available for adoption! He loves to chase tennis-balls, and his puppy-like antics will keep you smiling.
