DESCRIPTION:Atlanta Humane’s Pets in Crisis Support (PICS) Program provides temporary foster housing to pets of families who are facing crises such as eviction\, hospitalization\, or domestic abuse for up to 90 days so these pets can be reunited with their families. \nJoin us at our Roswell location for our Pets in Crisis Support Workshop to learn more about this program\, how you can help\, and sign up to be a foster for a pet in need. \nClick here to register. \nInterested in becoming a foster for this program?\nA successful Pets in Crisis Support foster enjoys serving as a “link in the chain” between an unfortunate crisis situation and a happy reunion between the pet and their person. The PICS foster understands that they are helping a neighbor in need – albeit one they won’t meet face to face – by providing a temporary safe harbor for that neighbor’s pet. How do I sign up? \nIf you’re interested in becoming a foster caregiver at the Atlanta Humane Society\, your first step is this New Foster Orientation! During this orientation\, we will talk about what to expect when you are a foster and provide you with all the information you need to be a successful advocate for the animals through fostering. After the orientation\, we will set up a virtual home check with you as required by the Department of Agriculture. \nOnce you’re formally a foster caregiver for the Atlanta Humane Society\, you’ll receive access to our Foster Board that is updated daily to show you the animals currently in available for foster.
