Underdog & CATch of the Week

Both our Howell Mill and Mansell Campus adoption facilities are open 7 days a week: Weekdays from 12-7pm and weekends from 11am-6pm.

Whether you have questions about pet ownership or need help choosing the right companion, our pet adoption counselors are here each and every day to assist you.

Adoption Process

DID YOU KNOW?

Our goal this year is to adopt out 9,000 dogs and cats to forever, loving homes.

Can't Adopt Still Rescue Me Banner

At Atlanta Humane Society, we love all of our animals but the long-term residents have an extra special place in our hearts. These are the dogs and cats that have stayed the longest at our facilities, many times more than six months. It can be very stressful to not have a permanent home and as a result, we’ve listed them here in hopes of finding these long-term residents an environment they can call all their own.

Our #CATchoftheWeek is Cinnamon. This gorgeous gal is a senior cat at 11-years-old. She’s a Domestic Shorthair Mix. She’s one of our older residents, but she still has plenty of energy and loves to play!

Lovely Luna

Luna

Name: Luna
Age: 10 months
Sex: Spayed Female
Shelter Location: Atlanta Humane Society: Mansell Campus
Breed: Retriever, Labrador/Hound Mix
Special Needs:
Our #UnderdogoftheWeek is Luna. At 10-months-old, she’s all puppy! She has lots of energy, so she’ll need an active owner. We think she’d do best in a home without young children or other hyper dogs, but she does like calm dogs.
