BENEFITS OF PET FACILITATED THERAPY
The health benefits of the human-animal bond are well-known in the scientific community. The Atlanta Humane Society helps bring happiness to puppies in our care and patients in nursing homes, hospitals, and children’s centers by providing this valuable volunteer service. Volunteers bring puppies awaiting adoption to visit patients who just need a little spirit-lifting. The puppies get some valuable socialization, and the people get all the benefits of petting puppies. What’s not to like?
