Ales for Tails
The 1873 Society Club, the Atlanta Humane Society’s Junior Board, will host its 5th annual “Ales For Tails” Spring Social on Tuesday, April 22 from 6-9 pm at SweetWater Brewery. Guests can sip ice cold SweetWater brews in the Tasting Room and on the pet-friendly patio; enjoy light bites from local restaurants; and groove to live music by Lingo. If taking home a souvenir pint glass isn’t enough, Atlanta Humane Society will be on-site with adorable pets that will be available for adoption at their Howell Mill Campus the following day. Doggies on the Catwalk
Fashionado presents Doggies on the Catwalk 2014 at a private hangar in the Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) on Friday, May 16, 2014, bringing the Bow WOW to the 7th annual event that partners high fashion with celebrity models and man’s best friends for the best doggone event of the season.
Doggies founder E. Vincent Martinez of Fashionado has paired 17 celebrity humans, wearing designer fashions from Tootsie’s, with Atlanta Humane Society adoptable dogs.

Bark in the Park
Join Atlanta Humane Society and some of our adoptable dogs for Bark in the Park with our beloved Atlanta Braves! Twice a year, your pup is invited to enjoy America’s favorite pastime by your side at Turner Field. Tickets are always limited, so once they go on sale, be sure to snap them up! For the second year, we are partnering with the very generous Atlanta Beverage Company to raise money for our pets in need. Beneficial Brews at SweetWater
One Wednesday a month, SweetWater Brewery selects a charity partner to benefit from their tour & tastings. On August 6, $3 from every tour glass sold will be donated to AHS. Souvenir pint glasses with 6 tasting tickets are just $10. Attendees must be 21+. Admission can be purchased at the door. SweetWater’s patio is pet-friendly so feel free to bring your pup along. Grief Group for Pet Loss
The Atlanta Humane Society offers a Grief Group for Pet Loss at the Howell Mill Campus on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11am-12pm. Come share your story with group members experiencing similar loss and emotions. The session is led by Linda Ehlers. Linda holds a master’s degree in community counseling and education from Georgia Sate University. Linda is also available for individual counseling. The main objective of the group is to generate mutual support and comfort to one another. No appointment is necessary, and the cost is $5.00.
