Carl came to the Atlanta Humane Society from one of our transfer partners. Soon after his arrival, our Shelter Medicine Team diagnosed him with pulmonic stenosis, which means this 7 month old was born with a very weak heart. Thanks to your support, we were able to diagnose and start Carl on life-saving treatment.
Although there is no cure for his condition, Carl is on daily medication that will keep his condition from worsening too quickly, and he is monitored closely by our Shelter Medicine Team.
Carl’s goofy grin and playful spirit make him a staff and volunteer favorite at the Atlanta Humane Society, and we know he will make a great addition to someone’s family.
As he gets older, Carl may need surgery to repair the weak valves in his heart, so he will need special care and love in order to thrive.
